MELBOURNE CUP EVE: Tomorrow is the day!
Nov 01, 2010
The time has now arrived. It is Melbourne Cup eve. With the final field announced, the barrier draw done, the final gallop completed we now can focus on ‘the day’. BUCCELLATI has drawn wide in barrier 21 but the bigger concern is going to be the track condition, it has improved in the last 24 hours and there will be many prayers said tonight that it continues.
We are pleased with the way that BUCCELLATI has come through this preparation and we know that he will be at his peek tomorrow. The odds show him to be an outsider, but he doesn’t know that, Tony Noonan isn’t worried and Steven King can’t wait to get out there any give him the best chance he can. These factors will ensure that we will show that our place in the Cup is deserved. The field is tough but this is racing and we know that often a script is written about how a race will pan out but don’t forget we have our own script and we hope ours is the one that they use tomorrow!
Best of luck to his owners Peter & Jennifer McMahon, Neven Botica and Rex & Wendy Gorell. We hope that you have enjoyed the experience so far and that you are able to have fun tomorrow and not let the nerves take over.
When the nation stops tomorrow afternoon and all focus turns to the racetrack – keep an eye out for the black and blue colours and give us a cheer!
