In a quiet week for the Noonan Stable in terms of runners it was a great thrill to see STRATUMSPHERE win at his debut run at Sale on Thursday, May 26th. It is always good to have a two year old win on debut but the victory was especially satisfying given that STRATUMSPHERE had a stress fracture in November last year and had to have 3 months off so it was a terrific effort by the young colt. Ridden by Daniel Schmitt, he jumped from an outside barrier, showed good speed but did not have an easy run having to sit outside the leader at the 1100m at Sale. He kicked clear at the top of the long Sale straight and held on to secure victory from some fast finishers. He is certainly a horse to watch as there is still good improvement in him and the race conditions were not ideal for him yesterday. Congratulations to the owners: Mr R D Keenan, Mrs K P Keenan, Mr J C Cawood, Mr J M Duarte,
Mr H J Mitchell, Mr N J Turner & Mr A D N Fraser and we wish them plenty more success.
