I am certain that everyone would be aware that horses’ birthday is coming up at the start of next month; we also have a very special birthday among our staff in our own Living Legend, Mick Robins who turns 80 today (Tuesday)! Mick has been with us now for 17 years.

Everyone would be aware that he trained two Melbourne Cup winners in Rain Lover in 1968/1969 and fortunately he joined our team 17 years ago to become an important part of the development and success at Greendale.

Mick has just returned back from Queensland where he has been in charge of our team there over the winter and it also included young horses and English horse Buccellati and also Kutchinsky who are both aiming for races in the Spring.

Mick has come back for a celebration with his family. I look forward to having him at home. On Wednesday he will set off to celebrate the 150th running of the Melbourne Cup, the VRC are taking him on a tour to parts of Victoria and then up to Broken Hill where Mick is from, so he has a very big week ahead of him.

We wish him all the best for his birthday and thank him for all his work and friendship. I am sure that on behalf of all of the clients, staff and everyone that knows Mick would endorse those thoughts and many happy returns Mick!

If you would like to send Mick a birthday message please sent it to jill@awnoonan.com and it will be passed on!
