It has been a great start to the week with WA OAKS PLACEGETTER LADYSEA breaking through her maiden status on the weekend when winning first up in the 1300m Maiden event at Pinjarra on Sunday. Beginning from barrier 14 she began well but was settled back towards the back of the field to be eased out around the turn to storm home down the outside to go on and score in great style.

LADYSEA is by Fusaichi Pegasus out of the Flying Spur mare Chandon Rose, a three quarter sister to STAKES WINNER and G1 WA KARRAKATTA PLATE PLACEGETTER, ROSE OF DANE. Congratulations to Bill Ives, Paul Gribble, Des Sheedy, Ian Hodgkinson, Michael Wright, Buzz Parkinson, John Sumner, Ian Oldfield, Garry Johnson and Dean Capelli on a long awaited with this mare who looks set to have a great campaign ahead.

Then the winning streak kept going when QUICKSILVER LASS, (TESTA ROSSA – FULLAZZ), broke her maiden status at just her second start at Mornington on Monday in the 1200m Maiden. She began well and took up the early running to take the lead, unpressured to bend, she balanced up for Steven Baster to go on and streak away making the others look second rate, winning the event by over 5 lengths. She will now go for a well deserved break and we are looking forward to hopefully having lots to look forward to with this filly when she comes back in the Autumn.

Our congratulations to her owners, Joe Crupi, John and Virginia Allen, Rick and Jayne Barker, Terry and Suzanne Ritchie, Darren and Gayle Auld, Ange and Peta Pietromonaco, Michael Suey and connections, Joe Duarte and John Cawood, thanks for you patience with this filly, we were thrilled to get this result for you and looking forward to hopefully many more days like this.
