The third day of trade at Oaklands Junction continues as we write this but overall the market is quite surprisingly proving to be very buoyant, the overall sale average up 6% to $74,000 at the end of yesterday’s trade.

However like any sale there is always opportunities to be had and holes in the market for those that wait, and wait Tony did before jagging a lovely neat athletic filly, Lot 362, the Wonderful World half sister to stable mate Stratumsphere and black type performers CARLTON SPIRIT and CARLTON ACE, who seemed very well bought at $40,000, on the second day.

Today, another really exciting prosposition lot 602 (pictured), by first season sire Northern Meteor out of the Stakes Placed Flyer Spur mare Jennifer Ann who hails from the family of the likes of black type winners ROYAL DISCRETION and ROULETTES etc etc. This colt is Super Vobis Qualified, meaning he is eligible for the Super Vobis Bonus Scheme which has just announced an increased bonus opportunity which is a very exciting announcement for all racehorse owners, instead of the normal $48,800 the winner receives when you win a $80,000 Saturday Metropoliten Race, with Super Vobis Gold the winner alone will now receive $78,900. This now comes, along with this week’s RVL announcement of an $18.7 million prize money increase unveiled for 2012-13 with 63% allocated to the country, there seems there has never been a better time for racehorse owners.

We still have one more day of the Premier Sale with the Premier II Session to follow on Friday as well as the Racehorse Sale on Friday which we also have a couple of lots marked of interest.

More news as it comes to hand but in the meantime for further details on any of Tony’s Yearling Sale purchases and also for more details on the how the new Super Vobis Gold Bonus Scheme works contact our Racing Manager.
