Our team in Queensland makes a great start to their campaign with Johanna’s Own having a very soft win today at the Sunshine Coast in the 1600m Maiden event. She had Jake Noonan in the saddle who had partnered with her at her 3 previous starts. Beginning well Jake was able to have her settle back and was given a lovely trail, settling lovely improving her position from the 600m getting to the outside and storming home to go to the line under hands and heals to win very comfortably and looks like she should have no worries stepping up in distance from here.

Congratulations to all involved with the filly, namely Glenn Fraser, Perry Sambor, Gaspare Sirriani, Wylie Dalziel, Roy Higgins and Bill Stephens and it was terrific that Wylie Dalzeil and Jeff and Di Swanson were there to greet her back to the winners stall. We were all thrilled to get this first win on the board with the filly and what was most encouraging was the way in which she did it and we’re looking forward to now stepping her up in distance as she continues along the way on her Queensland campaign.
