A WINNER AT WERRIBEE BEFORE THE STORM HITS

Aug 23, 2012

Our Mornington stable evened up the ledger against our Perth stable who had a winner yesterday with the win of TORAHKA at Werribee today. Ridden by Jake Noonan, freshly returned from his Bali holiday, he travelled outside the leader, kicked away on straightening and despite getting very tired the last 50m he held on to win in another close photo finish. It is a well deserved victory for the horse who has been terribly honest and consistent this preparation. Congratulations to Jake as it was a leg of the Rising Stars Apprentice Series and a big congratulations to owners G Cappellin, Amalfi Syndicate (Mgr: J Amalfi), Branca Syndicate (Mgr: J Brancatisano) & Four Rude Gentleman Syndicate(Mgr: D D Cecchi) who have been very patient and supportive of the horse.
An hour after cheering TORAHKA home, the Greendale stables were hit by a massive hailstorm (photos available 1, 2, 3, 4). Thankfully all the horses were inside and safe and well but it did turn the stables into a ski resort for a brief period of time!
