Following a two month stint under Nick Cox at Tony Noonan Racing in Perth, stable foreman Zach Ianson has returned to Greendale this week.
Zach who joined TNR back in April 2012 originally spent three years with the Moody stable, and prior to that 5 years with the harness racing stable Greg and Shane Cramp.
Zach on reflecting on his time in the West said “Perth was a fairly relaxing place to be and a lot different to Melbourne. Our methodology however around the stable and our horses was similar to Tony’s operation here as you would expect. I have really enjoyed working under the expert guidance of Nick and he is no doubt a real asset to TNR in Perth. The racing environment itself I found very different with racing only three and sometimes four days a week in the greater Perth area of the state and the nearby regions. This seemed to make for a more relaxed racing situation with things not being as full on and not as much travelling as here in Victoria. All in all I really enjoyed the experience together with the four winners the stable had in the time I was there.”
Zach has returned full of his trademark enthusiasm and vibrancy and TNR is looking forward to his contribution to a successful spring for the stable.
