WILD WINDS CAUSE HAVOC TO RACING

Sep 07, 2012

The almost hurricane strength winds of the past few days have caused havoc right across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula and as we draw to the weekend things haven't improved. We have seen the Sandown meeting called off on Wednesday after only one race and today the Geelong meeting only made it to Race 5 and they were probably lucky to get that far.

Our stable complex has copped a  fair battering but at the time of this news release we have escaped any serious damage. It's during weather like this that we see the best of our stable staff who still have to carry out their duties caring for all horses and taking horses through their work in the mornings. Well done to all. As for the horses there is no doubt the high winds cause them plenty of concern with some handling it better than others.

As we look out the window our truck has just returned safely from Geelong where Fiery Jest ran a battlng fifth in race three. Jake Noonan rode the winner of race two in the tough conditions.

Let's hope the weather picks up over the weekend and we look forward to some good racing and stable success next week.
