Shares available in stunning So You Think filly related to Manighar

Jan 09, 2015

-SOLD-

It is my pleasure to announce the purchase of a filly by So You Think at the 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale.

But it is with even more pleasure that I can announce shares in this beautiful bay filly are available.

She is out of the French mare Mandawara which makes her closely related to Manighar – a horse well known in Australia for his triumphs in the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m), Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) and Group 1 BMW (2400m) and total career earnings of $3.6million.

All of these Group 1s were run under weight-for-age conditions which have long stood the test of time as the measuring stick for Thoroughbred excellence.

The dam Mandawara is by Daylami who I have always held a high opinion of as a broodmare sire.

Amongst his band of broodmares is Miss Right Note – the dam of Pierro.

The sire of this filly himself, So You Think, needs no introduction.

He was a 10-time Group 1 winner with success in both Northern and Southern hemispheres.

He won a Cox Plate at the age of 3 and backed it up the following year at the age of 4.

He is the horse we will never forget with his five Group 1 wins in Australia and his five Group 1 wins in Europe.

In 2010 after winning his second Cox Plate (2040m), he backed up seven days later to win the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) and then again three days later to run third in the Melbourne Cup (3200m).

By the time he retired, he'd amassed $7.4million in prize money.

Everything about this filly’s pedigree and build suggests she will come on in a big way as a 3-year-old which is why I have no hesitation in declaring her as an Oaks filly.

Having returned clean x-rays and thoroughly inspecting every aspect of her, she has a lovely action in her walk and I could not fault her in any way, shape of form. She looks like she will grow into a magnificent mare and is from a phenomenal family with a secure bloodline.

Words cannot describe how excited I am to have her in our stable.
